The Communications Ministry and Federación de Radioaficionados de Cuba (FRC) issued a call for the next state examinations to be held July 22, where those that approve the subjects under evaluation will receive the Certificate of Competency to operate first, second and third category stations, which are the existing categories in the Largest of the Antilles.
With more than 10 thousand radio amateurs, Cuba is one of the IARU-R2 member societies that grows year after year with new associates that join amateur radio activities in the diverse bands assigned to this service.
Before the tests, held twice a year, candidates must prove not only their theoretical knowledge but their skills in operation techniques. Through their training system, FRC organizes, via amateur radio academies that operate throughout the country, the training of new candidates and of those that will upgrade their privileges to a higher-class license, where they arrive with vast knowledge proven in those state examinations.
