The Permanent Consultative Committee II: Radiocommunications (PCC.II) of CITEL, The Inter-American Telecommunications Committee, has approved on his 28th meeting, happened in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the Recommendation PCC.II/REC.53, recently released inside their Final Report.
This recommendation attended the IARU Region 2 proposal discussed in their 19th General Assembly in Viña del Mar, Chile, occurred only 2 months before the CITEL meeting.
The recommendation stimulate the administrations to keep, update or implement simplified legal, technical and administrative treatments to amateur and amateur-satellite services with reduced costs and reasonable requirements.
The recommendation also reinforces the concept to verify the operational and technical qualifications of any person wishing to operate an amateur station, considering specific regulations to Amateur Service and Amateur Satellite Service, in accordance with ITU regulations and recommendations.
Finally the recommendation also encourage the mutual recognition of amateur service licenses, to facilitate the temporarily operation within their respective countries of foreign amateurs duly licensed in their countries of origin, particularly in the case of disasters and/or natural catastrophes.

IARU R2 urges their members to spread the resolution and respectful invite the administrations to consider their principles in a way to harmonize and reinforce the Amateur Service and Amateur Satellite Service in Region 2.
