Today, Wednesday April 10, 2013, at 1314 local time (1914 UTC) there has been an earthquake, 5.6 degree on the Richter scale, in the Republic of Honduras, the epicenter was 10 kilometers deep, seven kilometers South of the town of San Juan Pueblo, Department Atlantis community located 59 kilometers south west of the city of La Ceiba and 162 kilometers north of Tegucigalpa, capital of Honduras.
The Permanent Contingency Commission of Honduras (COPECO) has issue a Green Alert all over Honduras and is currently collecting information from its regional offices.
According to unofficial data reported minor damage to the walls of the buildings of the Fire Department and the Courts in town of Yoro, Yoro Department. In the city of Tela, on the Atlantida Department was reported outage of electricity and telephone lines. In the city of San Pedro Sula was received with shock that lasted about ten seconds, with movements of objects placed on tables. There are no reports of human lives lost.
The frequency 7090 on 40 meters, used for emergency in Central Amercia, has maintained normal communication traffic.
