In Lima, Peru, on October 3, 2019, an Emergency Communication Workshop (ECW) will be held after the XX IARU R2 Assembly, with the purpose of exchanging information and increasing the response capacity of Member Societies (MS) of Region 2, in emergency communications, with the following topics:

Chiapas earthquake and Fuego volcano eruption
Describes the activity of Guatemalan radio amateurs during the Chiapas earthquake and Fuego volcano eruption.

Mexico City earthquake
Describe the experiences of Mexican radio amateurs in support of emergency communications in Mexico City during the earthquake of 2017.

Winlink Workshop
This is a didactic workshop to learn to use the Winlink network to send and receive e‑mail messages through radio equipment.

The Mercalli scale in the Chile early warning system
Describe the use of the Mercalli seismic scale in the early warning system in the presence of an earthquake in Chilean territory.

Also will be present speakers from: FRC-Cuba, GRC-Ecuador, RAC-Canada, and RCP-Peru; with a description their activities in emergency communications.
