The Federación Mexicana de Radio Experimentadores, FMRE, celebrated its annual convention in the city of Tijuana in mid October 2008. Dr Carlos Levy XE1YK sucessfuly finished his four year term and Victor Pinilla XE1VP was elected as the new FMRE President.

It was a lively convention that included many lectures and social activities. Worthy of mention was the large team of senior officials from COFETEL, regulatory agency, who were present making clear the excellent relationship of the agency with FMRE.

IARU Region 2 attendees were President Reinaldo Leandro YV5AMH, Secretary Ramon Santoyo V. XE1KK and EMCOR Dr. Cesar Pio Santos HR2P who gave an interesting lecture on emergency communications.
