As every year, 2014 has brought us sad and happy moments. Among the sad ones, we truly regret the loss of our good and well-remembered friends Darío Jurado, HP1DJ, former EC member, of Fannyxie, dear wife of President Reinaldo Leandro, YV5AM, and of many more colleagues. Among the happy moments, one of our member societies, ARRL, celebrated its centennial in 2014 and besides its big celebration event in July in Hartford, Ct., held commemorative events and contests throughout the year.
We hope that youve had a good year and that among your resolutions of 2014 was the promotion of our hobby, and that you were able to comply with that resolution and renew it for 2015. With the natural disasters of recent years, many of them affecting conventional communications, amateur radio has been recognized more and more as a very important option for emergency and relief communications. WE must be ready to serve, if need be, and every effort that we make in this sense will bring about positive results and must make us proud.
As 2014 draws to a close, the Executive Committee wishes to send best wishes to the radio amateur community and their families for a 2015 full of health, joy, prosperity and good propagation conditions!
