IARU and the three Regions continue to operate during the pandemic. The Region 1 Conference in Novi Sad has been postponed. The IARU Administrative Council meetings that were scheduled to occur in-person immediately before the R1 Conference will be held virtually on October 8, 9 and 10. Region 2 is represented on the IARU AC by President Ramon Santoyo, XE1KK and Secretary George Gorsline VE3YV. R2 will also have two observers present: Vice President Jose Arturo Molina YS1MS and Treasurer Jay Bellows K0QB.

The Region 2 Executive Committee met virtually on August 20 and the notes from that meeting are available on www​.iaru​-r2​.org/en. The in-person Executive Committee meeting which was to be held October 23 – 25 in San Jose Costa Rica will now be virtual in three sessions on October 21, 24, and 28. In addition to routine Region business, one day will be dedicated to briefings given by each of the Region Coordinators on activities and the challenges each function has.

News bulletins slowed over the summer months as pandemic restrictions curtailed many club and other group activities. With many Member Societies and radio clubs now meeting regularly via Zoom and other platforms, news items from Member Societies and radio clubs on these increased activities are welcome and should be addressed to the undersigned.
