It is with great sadness that we have learned of the death of Louis van de Nadort, PAØLOU, who died yesterday in a hospital after a short illness.

Lou was the Chairman of IARU Region 1 for 27 years until his retirement in 2002, and a member of the IARU Administrative Council. He will be sorely missed by his many colleagues and friends in IARU and around the world.

Lou was a man who rendered such service to IARU Region 1 and to amateur radio in general. To his family and friends IARU Region 2 would like to extend its sincerest sympathies. May he rest in peace.
