On Saturday, October 21, 2012, Radio Club de Honduras (RCH) received the visit of 25 boy scouts of ages ranging from 10 to 16 years from the “Zorzales de Sula” troop to participate in the Jamboree-on-the-Air.
Each one of these youths made contacts via radio, especially with scouts from Nicaragua, who were operating in the HF bands from Club de Radio Experimentadores de Nicaragua (CREN) in the cities of Managua and Matagalpa. They also had QSOs with other stations from the Central American countries.
The members of RCH gave the young scouts an explanation about the propagation of radio waves, operation of a radio station and about the digital systems used for sending e‑mais via radio, which is very useful in cases of natural disasters.
