The International Secretariat of IARU has named our friend and IARU Region 2 Executive Committee colleague Rod Stafford, W6ROD, as the next IARU Secretary effective October 1, 2009.

Rod has been very involved with IARU and Region 2 for a long time. He held the positions of Region 2 Area Director 1998 – 2001, Region 2 Secretary 2001 – 2004, and Region 2 President 2004 – 2007. Rod is also a past President of the ARRL.

All the members of the Executive Committee of IARU Region 2 congratulated Rod and thank Dave Sumner, K1ZZ, present IARU Secretary, for his dedication for many years in this position.
