To: IARU Region 2 Member Societies
As you know, the XIX General Assembly of IARU Region 2 will be held on October 10 14 in Viña del Mar, Chile. Radio Club de Chile will be the host Member Society.
For this very important event for radio amateurs to be a success, the Member Societies of the region must take due note of the actions described below that must be addressed as soon as possible.
1) Submission of Triennial Report
All Member Societies must submit their triennial report of activities by August 30, in order to have the translation ready. Submitting a report is an obligation of all Member Societies.
2) Proposals
The proposals that Member Societies want to submit to the consideration of the General Assembly must also be received by August 30 for translation.
3) Registration of delegations
It is a responsibility of all Region 2 Member Societies to attend the General Assembly. Therefore, we ask you to form a delegation of several of your own members, including a Head of Delegation or a Lead Delegate, who will have the right to cast the vote of his/her Society.

It is important that delegations register as soon as possible.
4) Registration at the hotel
The registration at the hotel must be made by electronic mail to reservas@hotelohiggins.cl making sure to mention “Evento IARU” in order to have access to the preferential rates.
We have a deadline to enjoy guaranteed rates and availability, which is August 15.
Registration at the hotel is different from REGISTRATION AT THE EVENT. The latter will allow us to have your data for administrative and communication purposes with each participant. This is done on line at http://chile2016.info/el-evento/registro/. We ask you to register immediately, including Area Directors and EC members.
5) Emergency Communications Workshop
An Emergency Communications Workshop (ECW) will be held in conjunction with the General Assembly. It will bring together the Emergency Coordinators of IARU Region 2 and other radio amateurs with experience in emergency communications at the national level. This is an open event where interested radio amateurs can participate, upon registration.
If your Member Society is interested in presenting a proposal, please let us know immediately.
